I had a connection -like experience of not exactly knowing what I was looking for with today’s puzzle. The answer first came in focus after I got spending and of course Shirley Bassey’s classic Hi Big Spender Come to think of.
My favorite of all the great things is cheese – and not just because cheese is one of humanity’s greatest culinary creations. Big cheese is also a nice way to describe a boss. It is disarming and charming, but also free (you are not only a cheese, you are a big cheese). Had this been an actual job title, I could have been more ambitious in the race on all the little cheese on the way to the top.
Still, I deduct … apologize. A nice puzzle, big thanks to the big cheeses at the Big Strands office to make it happen.

Strands is Nyt’s new word game after Wordle and Connections. It is now out of beta, so it is a fully developed member of Nyt’s Games Stable and can be played on the new Games site on desktop or mobile.
