The first word I saw on today’s grid was sauce and remember the theme, I was sure it would be correct.
Then I remembered the UK-US chip difference said, french fries = chips, chips = chips, ketchup = sauce and derived We were looking for things you could dip chips (or chips) in.
However, there are plenty of controversy in Strands’ choices, regardless of your nationality. Hummus is not something you would dip chips in for sure or fondue – which is famous served with cubes of bread.
Still, this was a fun search for interesting words. I don’t think I would have found the brilliant spelled tzatziki without the help of it was my last word.

What is new threads?
Strands is Nyt’s non-new-new-more word games after Wordle and connections. It is now a fully expanded member of Nyt’s Games Stable, which has been running for a year and can be played on the new Games website on desktop or mobile.
