Unusual I got the tension only today.
It felt a bit like the old -fashioned trick, where a magician pulls a handkerchief out of his pocket, and different colored hankies still emerge. This may be because today’s yellow snake spelled science fiction, but tightening from one side to the top also felt creepy and other worldwide, just as it broke the rules of the space -time continuum. Well, kind.
Still, it was wonderful to be reminded of these sci-fi classics and megalopolis.
The list also includes two films directed by the incredible Denis Villeneuve – arrival and Dune (although the compilers could have thought of the David Lynch version).
I would sincerely recommend seeking that the short story arrival was based on – Story of your life By Ted Chiang. Like all his stories, it reveals and haunts you in a very peculiar way – a bit like the point of the day.

What is new threads?
Strands is Nyt’s non-new-new-more word games after Wordle and connections. It is now a fully expanded member of Nyt’s Games Stable, which has been running for a year and can be played on the new Games website on desktop or mobile.
