New -threads today (game #417) – the answers
The answers to today’s threads, game #417, is …
- Sandpaper
- ROPE
- Pumice
- BARK
- Loofah
- Sackcloth
- Spanggram: rough things
- My rating: Easy
- My score: Perfect
Today’s theme immediately got me looking for sandpaper, and that was actually the first word I found.
Several peculiar bathing hours – objects made it to our search for rough things – loofah and pumice. Both things that are few under 50, but with natural exfoliating abilities that have been the test of the time.
I thought it used to be that loofahs were the remains of a seaplant, like mushrooms, but they are actually a dried kale bass, a kind of long pumpkin that was primarily used to scrub back. The pumice stone comes from a similar old-school place, a porous piece of volcanic rock that is good for cleaning and polishing.
The Bisarre wonder of the pumice was celebrated in song by older English songwriter John Shuttleworth recently, who was amazed at the other worldwide wonder and crowned “I loved it, it worked a treat by removing hard skin from my feet”. Every home must have one.
How did you do today? Tell me that in the comments below.
Yesterday’s new strings response (Wednesday, April 23, Game #416)
