The Wings phenomenon is fascinating. When the part of a chicken that no one wanted to eat, they are now so popular that there are a few weeks each year when people panic on social media over a shortage when the supermarket shelves are temporarily just and word spreads that Domino’s runs short.
It is no wonder that there are supply fluctuations. According to National Chicken Council, Americans ate 1.5 billion chicken wings over the Super Bowl weekend this year – that’s up 20 million in the previous year.
How are there enough birds to cope?
That said, even if there are no chains that only sell octopus – octopus stop, someone? – It is amazing that there are plenty of them trapped to meet the demand for Calamari, really king appetizers.
Although quality may vary between sublime and rubber band, I can’t see anywhere else if I ever see them on a menu.

What is new threads?
Strands is Nyt’s non-new-new-more word games after Wordle and connections. It is now a fully expanded member of Nyt’s Games Stable, which has been running for a year and can be played on the new Games website on desktop or mobile.
