For 13 years, from mid-2004 to mid-2017, New York Giants had only a starting Quarterback-Eli Manning.
By 2024 alone, they cycled through four.
Giants were on unknown territory during the 2024 season and mixed and matched their quarterbacks week by week late in the year. Daniel Jones was released and Drew Lock and Tommy Devito were injured, led to action for Tim Boyle.
Now Giants has the third choice in the draft, some capital and cash and a need for quarterback.

It’s no secret that the G-Men has a new quarterback under the center in 2025, but the question is who. With rumors swirling, the giants could be in the mixture of Matthew Stafford, who has been given the permission of Rams to seek potential offers with other teams, General Manager Joe Schoen made a cursing comment on the NFL Scouting Combine on Tuesday.
“I’m to take swings at that position. It’s the most important position and it’s hard to find them. So keep swinging. Keep swinging on the position until you find one,” Schoen said.
Sam Darnold, Justin Fields, Jameis Winston, and finally the heading Aaron Rodgers this free agency class. Kirk Causins can also participate in this list.
Stafford seems to be the most important commercial candidate, but Giants could take Cam Ward or Shedeur Sanders with No. 3 -Selection in the draft.
There are several options.

“Again, we don’t know what will happen in the draft. We don’t know who should tackle the position somewhere,” the Scho continued. “We will look at veterinarians. We are looking at the draft. We will look at trading candidates. We’re going to look under any cliff to find the best quarterback for us going into 2025 season.”
The Scho tilted his hand a bit when he said, “Even if you get a young quarterback, you would like a veterinarian in the room with him to be in the room with him and show him the ropes how to be a professional”
So it seems to be inevitable that Giants will bring a veteran, but there are a number of different veterinarians available.

Giants co-owner John Mara chose to keep both Schoen and head coach Brian Daboll despite a 3-14 season, the franchise’s worst record in a generation (Saquon Barkley’s 2,000-yard, Super Bowl-Winding Season also did not make Scho many favors many).
Daboll has said he needs a good quarterback game to succeed, a mood that Schoen repeated on Tuesday.

“It would be nice to have a guy out there giving you the best chance of winning games and also staying healthy. Again, it’s an important position and we need better to play out of that position than what we have had, and it really wants to help us, ”he said.
The NFL Free Agency period begins March 14.
