Senator Ted Cruz, R-Texas, had pointed out words for the NFL at the beginning of the Senate Trade Committee’s “Hearing Field” on Tuesday.
Cruz suggested that the NFL has come close to breaking the Sports Broadcasting Act of 1961, which was created to prevent the professional league from violating the schedules of high school and college football matches.

The NFL is technically excluded from broadcast games Friday night to Saturday, starting from the second weekend in September to the second weekend in December, according to Pro Football Talk.
Cruz called it a concern that the league has been able to broadcast games on Black Friday for the past two years.
“A growing concern is that the NFL has used its special exemption in SBA for the frustration of college and high school football plans,” he said. “For example, SBA explicitly excludes antitrust protection for the NFL if it releases a game on a Friday night or a Saturday between mid-September to mid-December. It is to protect the interests of high school and college football, and in the end their fans are undoubtedly also followers of the NFL.

There are millions of sports fans who like to be able to follow high school, college without is partly why they wrote SBA the way it did. “
