No NFL draft of views had to experience the first round just as Texas wide receives Matthew Golden.
The Texas Longhorns product was among those in the Green Room behind the stage at Lambeau Field this past week, waiting patiently to hear his name called by his next team. Golden waited a long time at night, but the host team did something they hadn’t done since 2002.
Draft of a broad recipient.

Packer’s President Mark Murphy had the Green Bay faithful in a madness when he announced the Golden as the first broad recipient taken by the franchise for more than two decades, and his reception when he got out of the green space wearing the Packers hat and still not holding his jersey.
“It still doesn’t feel right to me, that’s what is crazy,” he told Pakinomist Digital, while also discussing his time at the draft of tides. “As I said, I’ve been waiting to get my name called since I was six, and the way it happened to be in Green Bay for it to be the first recipient since 2002, it meant even more to me.
“A lot of history behind it, and just as it happened, I feel that God made it happen like that for a reason. It’s something that will stick to forever.”

Golden had Packers fans sang with him before walking out the stage as the love of their new hiding place was determined in full view.
However, Packer’s fans also expect a lot from him because of the story. If it wasn’t enough pressure to be a first round, it might be enough to get to a team with a fanbase desperate for their next top recipient.
However, Golden does not seem to feel that pressure.

“Certainly no pressure, but certainly knows that I have to come in, I have to compete and have to contribute to this team,” he explained. “It’s something I got in me, it’s the mentality I’ve come in. I have something to prove and I come in and help us win. Whatever it is, the team needs me to do, that’s what I’m here to do.”
It’s a crowded wide reception room in Green Bay, which includes Christian Watson, Jayden Reed, Romeo Doubs and DontayVion Wicks, among others. All of them have had their names called somehow in 2024, but none of them stepped up for Jordan Love as a true top recipient.
That’s not always a bad thing, but Packers fans want their Davante Adams, Jordy Nelson, Donald Driver-Type wide receiver that can rise above the rest. Whether it is golden to see, but a first round pick carries that kind of weight.
Golden said he has already spoken to Watson and Reed and couldn’t be more excited to make his mark on Packers – in what role it might be.

“They told me they are happy to have me here, and it’s time to get to work,” Golden said about his conversations with Watson and Reed. “So just come in and play with guys like that, it will be great. A lot of weapons, so I’m ready to come in and contribute to the game with them and keep having fun.”
What Golden immediately brings to Packers’ violation is more speed, driving a under-4.30 40-yard strike. But he’s more than just a one-trick pony in the passport.
“My route is running. I can run any route tree in the book – from the inside out,” he said. “No matter where it is, I can also line up in the back field. Just understanding the game so well where I can create separation without running full speed. I understand it so well – many people think I don’t run fast on the field, but I don’t have to run fast to open.
“I know I’m coming here to this organization, they will definitely help me a lot with other tools that can help my game. I’m glad to be here, I’m happy to be coached by them and I’m ready to get to work.”

Golden is happy and excited about where his NFL journey will begin, and he felt the strong sense of society as he participated in “Laundry Day Games” with tides along with former NFL -Lineman Anthony “Spice” Adams.
“It was cool,” Golden said of his work with tides. “Being with Spice, definitely a funny guy to be in. We played a lot of games, so it was a cool experience for me. I’ve always wanted to be in a commercial video with tides, and for it to actually happen, it was really amazing to me.”
