The 2025 NFL draft brought its reasonable proportion of surprises. But Sheduer Sanders’ free fall down the draft of boards was perhaps the most surprising development.
Cleveland Browns finally chose Sanders in the fifth round on Saturday. Shortly after the selection, Sanders went to social media to share a short but emotional message: “Thank you God.” In the days since, many characters in the sports world have tried to outline Sanders’ fall.
On Tuesday, a report from Athletic, which cited an unmanned NFL team manager, highlighted Sanders Train, which could have contributed to some teams being disillusioned with the former Colorado -Quarterback leading to the NFL draft.

“I think Shedeur approached these visits with teams as a recruitment trip against a job interview,” the team director told the business.
The same source suggested to Athletic that Sanders’ rejection of hiring an agent to represent him in an official capacity that served as an injury. A certified and experienced agent could have given Sanders some advantageous insight into the draft of the process, the report suggested.
It was widely assumed that Sheduer’s father, Pro Football Hall of Famer Deion Sanders, effectively served as Quarterback’s informal adviser during the draft process.

Sanders also faced an intense control from another source just before the opening round started last Thursday.

When asked to describe his experience before the draft of Shedeur, an anonymous NFL assistant coach noted that it was “the worst formal interview” he had been a part of.

“He has so the title. He takes unnecessary sacks. He never plays on time. He has terrible body language. He accuses teammates. … but the biggest thing is that he is not so good,” said the unmanned assistant coach via NFL Media.
Sanders ended the 2024 season with 4,134 passing yards. He joins a crowded quarterback room in Cleveland containing Deshaun Watson, Joe Flacco, Kenny Pickett and Dillon Gabriel.
