The questions about the Shedur Sanders’ NFL draft experience in the last three days that will go far towards deciding his future are: Has he learned something? And can he use it to improve?
In that regard, the latest addition to Cleveland Brown’s Quarterback room seems to be on the right way. Sanders, who is drafted in the fifth round (144 overall) Saturday, appears to reach out to perspective.
Sorry, no, lesson, yes

“Do I have any regret?” Sanders asked and repeated a question during his first media availability since the draft began. “I feel like in life, it’s always a way I can improve. So it’s always in different areas I am able to improve.
“And some things that I could have done at the time that seemed right at the time I could have walked around in a different way, and it was like more during the season and similar things.”
Sanders not only slipped into the draft. He really rode an avalanche down the board.
So how did it feel? What effect did it have on his mindset?

Sanders trusting God ‘had me’
“No, nothing really affected me for the past few days,” Sanders said. “You know that just really push to have faith and understanding you know God really had me, and I’m favored, I’m blessed.
“In addition, it’s not really something that changed. The love of the game is still the love of the game. When you get on the field, there wasn’t too much negativity that was said. I know I have to clean up some things in my game for me to be at my best, but that’s what I take every offseason one at a time and fix it.
“So I think it was just out of football that got in the way. But that’s why I have an opportunity now. We’re about to get on grass really soon.”
Sanders said advice he got from his father and Colorado trainer Deion Sanders in the middle of the dramatic slide in the draft helped. And he also shared his feelings throughout that time.

“He said, ‘God got us.’ So that’s what it is.
Sanders has been portrayed as the title. And maybe arrogant. The snapshot of him is not inaccurate, depending on the moment.
But that’s not how he would make everyone think he will be when he arrives at Browns’ facility in Berea, Ohio.
Job 1: Handle business with respect
“Get there and handle my business, do what to do, no matter what role it is, I’m just grateful for the opportunity. So that’s all I could pray for. The rest is on me.
“I know I want to fit in perfectly. I feel like it comes in first, shows respect for the veterinarians, showing them that I’m ready to work. Show the coaches and make them understand, I’m ready to work here. So they could actually understand the right me. That’s what I’m really grateful to have, the opportunity is the opportunity to actually see the right me and not be able to see things or not.
It is obvious that Sanders does not agree with what happened when he was transferred by all 32 teams several times until the fifth round arrived. But at least he’s smart enough – at least on this day – not to come out as a victim of it all.

Sanders avoid embracing victim
That would be a bad look.
“I feel like talent is all over the draft,” he said. “It’s about just being chosen and who sees your value. It’s pretty much that. Because it’s a lot of valuable players going in the rounds after the first and second. So I’m a product of one of them.
“And I understand that you can’t really categorize, I want to say my talent, I just have to prove and show what I’m able to. But what is burning me is my purpose in life and understanding the route we need to take.
