Nfl -legend Eddie George weighs Bowling Green’s Coaching offering, Report

Bowling Green Falcons seems to turn to an NFL legend as the football program seems to be filling its head coaching. According to ESPN, the school has expanded an offer to Eddie George.

The former Tennessee Titans, which run back, still spend Saturdays in the fall at Nissan Stadium – the same building where he routinely scored touchdowns during his prominent NFL career. George is currently Tennessee State Tigers -head football coach, and the school shares the stadium with the titans.

George was interviewed by Bowling Green earlier this week and seems to have a genuine interest in the opportunity as per the report.

George rose to football star status during his Starestint in Ohio State, culminating in winning Heisman Trophy from 1995. He rushed at 3,768 meters in his time with Buckeyes.

Tennessee State has experienced success under George. The Tigers stopped their ticket to FCS playing game the last season, marking the program’s first playoff -kaj since 2013.

Scot Loeffler created the main coach opening at Bowling Green as he traveled to take Quarterbacks -Coach job at the Philadelphia Eagles.

The reigning Super Bowl masters had to fill in their quarterbacks -trainer vacancies after Doug Nussmeier followed Kellen Moore to New Orleans Saints. Nussmeier will serve as the offensive coordinator of New Orleans during the 2025 season, while Moore will handle the head coach.

George spent most of his professional football career at the Titan organization before closing his time in the NFL with Dallas Cowboys. He has 10,441 career rushing yards and is still the titans’ rush leader.

George’s tenure at TSU is in line with a tendency for NFL storations to take main coach jobs at historically black colleges and universities (HBCUs).

Deion Sanders was appointed head coach of Jackson State by 2020. He is currently training in Colorado. Michael Vick was recently named the next head coach of Norfolk State, and Desean Jackson coaches Delaware State football team this coming season.
