NFL legend Troy Aikman discusses royal neighbors in celebrity-filled Montecito

Pro Football Hall of Famer Troy Aikman enjoys his free time before another season in the Broadcast Stand with Joe Buck.

What he does not, however, is related to his famous neighbors in Montecito, California.

Prince Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, also live in Montecito, but Aikman explained why he does not see himself spending any time with the Duke and the Duchess of Sussex at any time.

“I haven’t run into them,” he told us weekly. “But they are there from what I can gather. I think anyone with heart beats knows they are out there. But I don’t hang with them, it’s for sure.”

Dallas Cowboys legend promoted his eight elite beer and joked that he didn’t imagine Prince Harry and his wife “drinking a lot of light beer.”

Prince Harry and Markle moved to Montecito in 2020 after leaving their senior roles with the royal family. But they don’t seem to make too many friends in their new area.

Montecito residents spoke with Vanity Fair earlier this year, one of which referred to Markle as “Starlet” and they believe that the usually quiet city has new irritations since they arrived.

Some of these irritations include busy streets, increased house prices and tourist traffic.

But not everyone thinks the couple is “local villains.” Sharon Stone, another celebrity neighbor, famous them for wanting to mark in Montecito.

“You know it knows those who are so big is that they didn’t come here to live off our society,” Stone Access told Hollywood in 2020. “They came hit to be part of our community.

“My friend said she was sitting in her car and they cycled across the street and waved toward her while sitting by the red light. They are part of our community. They have become a giving, caring, participating part of our community. They are not here to be like, ‘will you kiss my ass?'”

Montecito has been home to celebrities such as Natalie Portman, Leonardo DiCaprio, Jeff Bridges, Michael Keaton and others.

Aikman is ready for his next NFL -TV season on ESPN’s “Monday Night Football” with long -time partner Buck.

Aikman, a three-time Super Bowl champion with cowboys, began broadcasting in 2001.
