The six-time pro-bowler’s $ 19.1 million a year is the highest average annual value for a tight end in NFL history. Kittles $ 35 million guaranteed by signing is the most in the NFL story for a tight end.
Kittle’s average annual value of $ 19.1 million is a hair over Arizona Cardinals’ Trey McBrides Average annual value of $ 19 million on the contract, which he signed earlier in the high season.
Kittle was set to enter the last year in a five-year-old, $ 75 million agreement he signed in 2020. He did not show up in the first few days of the team’s volunteer offseason program when he was waiting for a new deal.

The two-time all-pro was a big part of the offense for the 49s last season when he caught 78 passports in 1,106 yards and eight touchdowns in 15 games. Throughout his eight-year career, Kittle has been a big all-round tight end and emerged as a leader in the 49ers closet room.
“In 2017, our first year with the 49s, we chose a thin tight end from Iowa that we were really excited about. We had high hopes, but no one knew he would become the player he is today,” said 49ers General Manager John Lynch in a statement.

“George’s leadership, enthusiasm for the game, to his teammates and the faithful are really unique and special. He is an excellent representation of the 49s on the field and is an excellent representative of the organization off the field with his investments in the NFL.”
With Kittle’s extension now done, Lynch has a more larger field to mark this offseason: Quarterback Brock Purdy’s contract extension. Purdy’s potential contract extension could exceed over $ 50 million a year.
