NFL News: Abdul Carter signalizes intrest in giants

The NFL draft in 2025 is less than two weeks away, and one of this year’s top prospects fell a tip about which team he hopes to land with.

Former Penn State Pass Rusher Abdul Carter is expected to be broadly one of the first players from the board of directors on April 25, and New York Giants has the third overall election.

Carter added to speculation that he hopes to have a blue uniform in his rookie season by sharing a picture of Giants Great Lawrence Taylor on social media.

The picture of the Hall of Fame Linebacker on Carter’s X account was accompanied by the quote, “Once a giant, always a giant.” Sen Giants owner Wellington Mara has been credited to accommodate the sentence.

This week’s visit is not the first time Carter has interacted with Giants. Star Edge Rusher also ate breakfast with Giants head coach Brian Daboll earlier this month, according to several reports.

Taylor’s 132½ sacks rank number two on Giants’ All-Time List. The 9½ sacks he had during his rookie season in 1981 are not included in the total amount because sacks were not considered an official statistic at that time.

Carter got 23 sacks during his three seasons with Nittany Lions and received the Big Ten defensive player of the year honors after a strong campaign in 2024.

Carter fought through a shoulder injury during college football playoffs. It was also recently revealed that he is dealing with a stress reaction in the foot. However, Carter is still unlikely to undergo an operation to solve the problem, ESPN reported.

If Carter ends up with Giants, he would take part in a defensive line that already contains Brian Burns, Kayvon Thibodeaux and Dexter Lawrence.
