After Chicago Bears hired Ben Johnson after his enormous success in Detroit, many football fans expected the bears to take the next step.
Johnson was the offensive coordinator of the high-powered lions, and his steps were widely considered extremely advantageous for the 2024 first-overall election Caleb Williams.
The season started nicely when Chicago led Minnesota Vikings, who entered the fourth quarter of their season opener. But JJ McCarthy brought a wild comeback, and then Johnson’s former Lions dismantled his new team, 52-21, in a sour return game this last Sunday.

They say practice makes perfect. That’s part of the problem, according to Johnson.
“I think our practice habits should not yet reflect a championship caliber team,” he said.
Specifically asked what practice habits do not “championship scalbers”, Johnson gave a long list.

“We had to go to football and end hard,” he said. “We are talking about it all the time with the offensive players that our basic elements, our finish and our technique, they have to show up in review, they have to show up on the practice field. That’s how it pops up on game day. Simple things, how to learn correctly? How do we catch the ball? How do we block after the catch? level makes it a huge difference. ”
Chicago has allowed 73 points in the last five quarters. Minnesota stood from 11 points down in the fourth quarter of a 27-24 win.

The schedule does not light up exactly this week as they host Dallas Cowboys, which narrowly lost to the reigning Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles before defeating New York Giants, 40-37, over time over the weekend.
