Los Angeles Charger’s wide receiver Quentin Johnston left Saturday’s Forsy Season match against Los Angeles Rams after a tough hit left him with a concussion.

Johnston is tracking a ball from Justin Herbert down on the sidelines in the first quarter when Rams Safety Tanner Ingle delivered a big hit. It was the third snap of Chargers’ first series.

The wide recipient landed on his back with both arms outstretched. He was moving for several moments before medical teachers came to check him.

“Quentin suffered a concussion, and that’s never a good thing,” said Charger’s head coach Jim Harbaugh. “But the way it looked at the time, looked like it could have been much worse. And he was led (to a hospital) for more evaluation, but he spoke. He remembered the piece. He moved well. So that way it’s a good thing.”

Los Angeles chose Johnston out of TCU with the No. 21 total election of 2023 NFL draft.

The 2024 season, Johnston’s second, was the best of his career so far. He had 55 catches in 711 yards and eight touchdown catches.

He competed for the starting job for chargers. He was No. 2 on the depth card behind Keenan Allen, three Harris and Ladd McConkey.

It’s unclear how long he wants to be out.
