Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones spoke for the first time since Superstar Pass Rusher Micah Parsons requested a trade on Saturday.
Jones, 82, had a message to fans in the wake of Parsons’ trade request.
“I want to say to our fans, don’t lose sleep over this,” Jones said via Star-Telegram.

Jones said he believes that the “world of” Parsons and said his trade request is just part of the negotiations.
Parsons announced his trade request on social media on Friday, and in his post Parsons said he did everything to show he would stay with Cowboys.
“Yes I would be here. I did all I could to show that I would be a cowboy and carry the star of my helmet. I would play in front of the best fans in sports and do this America [sic] Hold again. The team my pops and I grew up cheering on the way up into Harrisburg, Pa. Unfortunately, I will no longer be here, ”Parsons wrote in his post.
“I will no longer have held to close door negotiations without my agent present. I no longer want shots taken on me to be injured while putting it on the line of the organization, our fans and my teammates. I no longer want stories created and spread to the media about me.

Parsons said he would have a contract extension after his third season when he was only eligible for such an agreement, but the team had no interest. Parsons said he is “ok with it” and turned attention to the 2024 season.
However, Parsons said once again that there has been “radio movement” from cowboys in terms of any potential contract extension after last season.
“Still, still not a call -e -mail or text to my agent to start a negotiation. Up to today, the team has not had a single conversation with my agent about starting a negotiation. No requirement has been made from my agent for money year or anything else,” Parsons wrote.
“I have made a tough decision that I no longer want to play for Dalla’s cowboys. My trading request has been presented to Stephen Jones personally,” Parsons concluded.

Parsons has been one of the leading passport rushers since they were selected with 12. Collected elections in the 2021 NFL draft from Penn State. Parsons has made the Pro Bowl in all four seasons in his career.
In 63 career games, Parsons has 52.5 bags of 172 solo tackles and nine forced fumbles. Last season, Parsons had 12 sacks in 13 games.
While Jones may be asking fans not to lose sleep over Parsons’ trade request, it would be difficult to blame them if they did.
