Dallas Cowboys acquired Joe Milton of New England Patriots during the peak season to add more depth behind Quarterback Dak Prescott in the 2025 season.
Milton spoke glowing about his new cowboys teammates and took an ironing on Patriots’ dressing room in the process. New England chose Milton in the sixth round of 2024 NFL draft, and he was in a quarterback room with Drake Maye and Jacoby Brissett last season. Jerod Mayo was the main coach of the Patriots last season.

“Dak is a great leader. ALL respect for him. He literally goes out of his way of helping me, whether the coach speaks at the meeting, he literally goes out of his way of helping. I’ve been in another building. I know how it’s going. It’s just very different here,” Milton said on Friday via Athletic.
He said he “preferred” to have a new start a new place new.
“It was something I and my team put together. They were able to get it done, I really didn’t have to do much or say much. So just shout to my agent, that’s pretty much that.”

Milton appeared only in a game for the patriots last season.
He was 22-of-29 with 241 passing yards and a touchdown pass. He is considered to have massive potential if he has ever gotten a shot at becoming a starter in the NFL.
Milton is expected to be backup -quarterback on the way into the regular season behind Prescott. Will Grier is split on QB3.
