NFL News: Eagles’ Aj Brown says he rejected Georgia over its sock color

Philadelphia Eagles Star Wide recipient AJ Brown recently revealed his reason not to play football in Georgia. And it’s strange specifically.

Brown, 28, said Georgia recruited him, but he did not commit there because of the color of the team’s socks.

“I didn’t choose Georgia. I was recruited by Georgia,” Brown said during a recent performance at Barstool Sports’ “Forgive my take.”

“I didn’t choose Georgia because I don’t like to wear black socks. It may be crazy but I hate wearing black socks.”

Brown called the combination of black socks and black bricks “terrible.”

“Putting black socks on with black bricks, it’s just so abominable. Because when I put white on, I feel so fast, so smooth. As it’s just something about it,” Brown added.

Brown was No. 5 Wide Recipient Prospectus and No. 47 overall views in the 2016 recruitment class. He had an interest from Georgia, Alabama, Ole Miss and Mississippi State and chose Ole Miss.

At Ole Miss, Brown had white socks and was part of a dynamically wide receiver room. In 2018, Ole Miss had three NFL -wide recipients on their list.

Brown was drafted in the second round of 2019 NFL Draft of the Tennessee Titans. DK Metcalf was drafted in the second round of 2019 NFL Draft by Seattle Seahawks. And Elijah Moore was another round of election in the 2021 NFL draft of the New York Jets.

With the titans and now Philadelphia Eagles, Brown can continue to wear white socks and feel fast.

Regardless of his sock color, Brown had a great season for Eagles last season. In 13 games in regular season he had 67 catches for 1,079 yards and seven touchdowns.

In the Eagles’ Super Bowl race, Brown had 12 catches in 163 yards and two touchdowns in four playoffs.
