Philadelphia Eagles cut one of their most important veterans during their Super Bowl Lix race this last season and his wife seems to take it hard.
Darius Slay, the six-time Pro Bowl Cornerback, was released by the team as a Cap Casualy. Eagles allegedly saved $ 4.3 million against their ceiling with the move.
Slay has spent the last five seasons leading an Eagles Secondary who anchored the best fit in the NFL in 2024.

But the main reason behind it, however, was the addition of Rookies Quinyon Mitchell and Cooper Dejean, both of whom had major inauguration.
So, because of their quick transition to the pros, Slay’s release makes sense to save some money for future free agency movements.
Jennifer Slay, Darius’ wife, shared his response to the move on social media.

“Real Tears,” Jennifer posted on X.
She also posted on her Instagram story a photo of her celebrating the Super Bowl Lix’s victory with her husband and the caption, “Philly,” with heart hands, broken heart and tear-garded emojier.
It has been said many times, but the game in the game can be cruel. This is another example of a hard move.

Now Darius Slay searches for his third NFL team after spending his first seven seasons with the Detroit Lions, where he served three of his six Pro Bowls.
In 14 games last season, Slay had 13 passports defense, 49 tackles, a forced fumble and a fumble improvement.
According to CBS Sports, Slay wants to play one more year and that usually means going to a challenger to fight for another Super Bowl ring.

As for teams that can give this competitor to Slay, a Lions gene Association makes sense considering that they could use help in the secondary. Pittsburgh Steelers has also been a team suggested, as defensive coordinator Teryl Austin spent time with Slay in Detroit before this position.
