Jason Kelce revealed why he decided to color his beard during the latest episode of his podcast this week after fans previously called the former Philadelphia Eagles star for his new look.
Kelce, 37, caused a voting on social media when fans noticed that he colored his facial hair during Taylor Swift’s performance on “New Heights.” At that time, Kelce wrote on social media that the dye was for a “good reason” and he revealed that reason Wednesday.
“The colored beard came from an idea to garage beer where I had to do this bit, where we go back in time,” said Kelce under “new heights.”

For the bit, Kelce said he was originally planning to shave his beard completely before changing course.
“So I wanted to be younger. Originally, I had to shave my beard completely, and then I was like ‘yes, I don’t. I hate my face too much so I want to hold the beard.’ But I color it to make me look younger that worked.
Kelce said the dye worked, but it came darker than expected.

“We didn’t play very well, and I ended up getting a little darker than I expected,” he said.
Usually a salt-and-pepper beard sported, Kelce said he misses his gray hair but admitted that the darker look has grown on him.
“I miss my gray. I can’t wait for this to grow back. However, it grows kind of on me. I feel like looking pretty good with the dark beard. I don’t want to lie,” Kelce said.

“I didn’t make it out of vanity. I did it a bit. That’s all I say. I think there’s a clear difference.”
Travis Kelce teased his brother and said it was fine if he felt a little insecure about his gray hair, but Jason insisted he loved it.
