Falcons signed cousins for a four -year deal of $ 180 million in March 2024, but the team made the shocking decision to work out Michael Penix Jr. with the eighth total choice of the draft the following month.
Penix eventually took over the exit role when the cousins were benched – a lineup that is expected to remain the same in 2025.
But his absence on Tuesday does not come as a big surprise to Falcons’ leadership.

“I don’t want to be foolish to believe that he will show up for volunteering right now,” Morris said at the annual league meeting last month via New York Post. “We are dealing with a business type mode right now. I don’t think he will be there. If he is, we welcome him with open arms. But I will not be fooled enough to make myself worked up and angry with Kirk-Färters who lack volunteer training.”
Falcons have shown no sign of looking to move on from cousins, and every trade needs the veteran’s stamp of approval thanks to a clause without trade.

The Pittsburgh Steelers Has been thrown into the mixture as a possible destination for cousins who still want to start in the NFL, but Aaron Rodgers’ decision on his future in the league is likely to be the decisive factor there.
