Los Angeles Chargers will take on the Detroit Lions in 2025 Pro Football Hall of Fame Game in Canton, Ohio, July 31, announced the Hall of Fame on Wednesday.
It will be the first time since 2000 that an NFL -Seasonal Game will be played in July.
The tight end Antonio Gates, a previous charger, will officially be introduced to the Hall of Fame on August 2nd with Cornerback Eric Allen, Defensive End Jared Allen and the broad recipient Sterling Sharpe.

The Lions will be the game’s designated homemaker after they walked 15-2 last season and were NFC’s No. 1 Seed. They were disturbed in a great way by the Washington commanders in the divisional round.
After the loss, both offensive coordinator Ben Johnson and defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn traveled to the main coach job. Johnson joined Lions ‘Division -Rival, Chicago Bears, while Glenn entered the New York Jets’ head coach.

As for chargers, they come out of a campaign where they went 11-6 and played playoffs in head coach Jim Harbaugh’s first season with the team. They lost in the Wild Card round of Houston Texans, a game in which quarterback Justin Herbert fought mighty.
During 17 games in regular season, Herbert threw only three interceptions, but in Chargers ’32 -12 playoff losses he threw a career high four interception.

This will be the fourth trip to Canton for Lions and the third for chargers. Detroit played the end of the game in 1991 and beat the Denver Broncos 14-3. The last performance for chargers was a loss of 21-17 for Atlanta Falcons in 1994.
