“So I’m actually in the beginning phase as a beginner out there, but it fascinated me that they have this Watsonx AI in it to make these decisions because I am in advance as if I have no time to research all these players to build a fantasy team, but now with it gives it.”

Foldes compared with the help of AI in fantasy football with how an NFL General Manager has different departments that acquire information for him.

“You are the general manager of your own fantasy football team, but in advance you did not have information that a general manager has, like Howie Roseman for Philadelphia Eagles. He has all this staff that Eagles pays who do sports analysis, free agents, rookies, whatever it may be,” Foldes said.

The ESPN Fantasy Football app has more than 12 million players, and Foldes said the IBM features in the app make it a more fun process.

“But it makes it a more fun process with more information to where you hopefully make better decisions and you have a good result. But as we know in football injuries, different things happen, offenses change, defense changes, but I think it’s a great tool to help users make better decisions and learn more about the game honestly,” Foldes said.

The new AI models from IBM Arm Fantasy football players with information to help them buy low and sell high on players in trades and predict which players can boom or bust depending on their matchup that week.
