NFL News: Odell Beckham JR slams fake retirement report

The NFL’s wide receives Odell Beckham Jr. threw online rumors that he would call it completed.

A fake account on social media pretending to be an ESPN NFL insider who was sent on X that Beckham would call it a career after 11 years in the league. The picture along with the position showed Beckham with his child outside Metlife Stadium – where he started his NFL career.

Beckham caught the wind of it and seemed to be unhappy.

“Lol wtf … when was it announced and by who? It’s funny, appreciates the worries, but this shxt is not over yet,” he wrote in response to the fake account.

Then he asked NFL fans to be wary of what they read on the Internet.

“Nobody seriously. PLZ stops reading everything on the internet and stop sending me a happy retirement B4 U PS ME MIG,” he added. “It won’t get any answer. I promise you the day I’m done I’ll let you kno. Again, if you text to me happy pension, I just have to block you. Thanks.”

Giants chose Beckham out of LSU with No. 12 selection of 2014 draft. He quickly had a huge impact on the field – and at one point he was compared to Jerry Rice with some of the numbers he set up.

He had 390 catches in 5,476 yards and 44 touchdowns in 56 games with Giants. However, Beckham’s Antics on the field did not seem to please Giant’s ownership. He was traded for Cleveland Browns before the 2019 season and jumped around the league from there.

He helped Los Angeles Rams to a Super Bowl in 2021, but an injury to the game had him on repair throughout the 2022 season. He played for Baltimore Ravens in 2023 and Miami Dolphins in 2024.

He is still a free agent on his way into the 2025 season.
