It was time for a change for Patrick Mahomes.
Back in February, after many years of sporting his signature Curly Mohawk, Mahomes changed it up by shortening the top tone and went with a simple cropped style with a dish on the side.
Mahomes’ Barber, Dejuan Bonds, said he thought “frustration” kicked in, but Mahomes said he had actually kept the look more because of superstition.

“I’ve wanted to do it for a while, but it was a kind of these superstitions. I continued to win the Super Bowl, which is a good thing, but I wouldn’t cut my hair while I did,” Mahomes told the media Thursday.
But whether they won another Lombardi trophy or not, it was time to change it no matter what.
“I told everyone during the season that it wins or loses if we win three in a row, or if we lose, I get a haircut as it is enough. I am very excited. I have seen some videos from last year and I can not believe that all of you let me keep the diaper hair as long as I look better now with the short hair, so I will keep this ahead.”

Mahomes had his old look eight years ago when he was ready for the NFL draft. The 10th election of the NFL draft in 2017 reflected back to his draft day, which he admitted he was “nervous” about.
“I get spent it at home. I was a lot – we talked about it actually today when we threw with some of the guys. I was very excited to be able to spend it with the people I grew up with and the people who believed in me. To be able to be drafted by those bosses, and the team that I wanted to pull me and draft me 10.
