Tommy Devito was waived by New York Giants on Tuesday, but the fan favorite quickly found a new home.
Devito, 27, was required from exceptions Wednesday by New England Patriots. He wants to cast as the team’s third-string quarterback behind Starts Drake Maye and Backup Josh Dobbs.
Devito became the odd man out with Giants when the fourth quarterback on the guard schedule after the team had revised his quarterback room during the high season. Giants signed Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston in free agency and acted up to draft Jaxson Dart in the first round of 2025 NFL draft.

Devito has started eight games and performed in 12 during his two-year career. By 2023 he went 3-3 and finished 64% of his passports in 1,101 yards with eight touchdowns and three interceptions and was thrown into the national limelight as “Tommy Cutlets.”
Last season Devito started two matches but fought. The Northern Natives in New Jersey finished 70.5% of his passports in 257 yards without touchdowns and no interceptions.

Devito played well in the forecast, especially against the patriots. In Giants ’42 -10 victory over the patriots he finished 17 of 20 passes in 198 yards and three touchdowns.
Across three for -season games, Devito completed 30 of 38 passes in 323 yards with four touchdowns and a eavesdropping.

“Just strengthening the guard schedule, determined on a premium position and continues to add pieces, whether offensively, defensively or guys we feel like can help us on special teams,” Patriots said Mike Vabel on Wednesday.
Vrabel also acknowledged that having vice president of player staff Ryan Cowden – who was previously an adviser to Giant’s General Manager – was advantageous in providing insight into Devito.
