Baltimore Ravens defensive tackle Michael Pierce announced his retirement from the NFL on Wednesday after almost a decade in the league.
Pierce, 32, spent nine years in NFL, seven seasons with ravens and one with Minnesota Vikings. He chose by 2020 because of the Covid-19 pandemic.
“I’ve decided to call it a career,” Pierce the news of the “Sports Spectrum” podcast shared. “It’s been a beautiful, beautiful, beautiful nine years. I’ve had so many people to help me along the way.”

“I want to thank a few people in person, of course my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, first and foremost.”
One of the people he thanked was former Raven’s general manager Ozzie Newsome, who signed him as a non -drawn free agent in 2016.
Pierce spent the first four seasons of his career with Ravens and then signed a three-year contract of $ 27 million with the Vikings before the 2020 season.
The nose tackle chose out of the covid season and played a season with the Vikings before he was released. Pierce then went back to the place where it all started and returned to the Ravens on a three -year contract of $ 16.5 million.

In his nine-year career, Pierce had 218 total tackles, 9.5 sacks, 19 tackles for losses, with six fumble recovery and a memorable eavesdropping.
The ravens rose 35-10 against Cleveland Browns in week 18, on January 4, 2025, by just over two minutes left in the fourth quarter.
Pierce, the nose of 355 pounds, fell into the cover and captured Bailey Zappe and returned it six meters before kneeling down.
