Former NFL Star Wide recipient TJ Hushmandzadeh offered his takeover of Cleveland Browns’ Quarterback situation as training camps are weeks away from the opening.
Browns chose Dillon Gabriel and Shedeur Sanders in the draft and added them to a list that already included Joe Flacco and Kenny Pickett. It is unclear who is the front runner to win the job. But Houshmandzadeh pointed out two players who he thought were ahead of the competition.

“I was told from someone who is in the building that is not a player, it really comes down to Kenny Pickett or Dillon Gabriel,” said the former Cincinnati Bengals star Friday on “Nightcap.” “That’s what I was told. But now, when you get the reports that shedur ends seven out of nine passports – is it against starters?
“Or is it against the triangles and the Firlers, the guys who will be released? So it seems impressive when you see the graphics, but is it really if it is not against the starters or guys who are going to be on the team?”

Flacco was successful with Browns in the past, but may not be the long -term answer that Cleveland is looking for. Pickett was referred to a backup role last season with Philadelphia Eagles after he started some games for Pittsburgh Steelers in 2022 and 2023.
Gabriel was a prominent quarterback for Oregon Ducks and other teams before Browns chose him. Sanders’ draft slide lasted until the third day when Cleveland chose him. However, Sanders has already had some problem with the law since he came to Cleveland.

There is still a lot to be decided before Browns begins their season against Bengals.
