NFL News: Steelers’ Jalen Ramsey ejected for hitting Bengals’ Ja’Marr Chase

Two top NFL stars butted heads during their game Sunday afternoon, and one of them was forced to leave the game early.

Pittsburgh Steelers cornerback Jalen Ramsey and Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase got into an altercation in the fourth quarter of their AFC North game. The two were face to face on the field when the Steelers player grabbed Chase’s face mask, jerked his head and appeared to punch him.

NFL officials were following the incident closely when a flag was thrown. Players from both teams gathered around Ramsey and Chase. The landline was hot and had to be restrained from escalating the incident further.

The CBS broadcast also showed an earlier incident between Chase and Ramsey. The two players appeared to grab each other’s face masks before their bad blood boiled over.

Ramsey had four tackles and a pass breakup before being ejected. Pittsburgh led 20-9 at the time.

Ramsey, a seven-time Pro Bowler and Super Bowl champion, was traded to the Steelers from the Miami Dolphins this offseason. He has played in nine games for the Steelers coming into the game against the Bengals. He has 43 tackles, one interception and two sacks this season.

Chase, despite playing with backup quarterbacks this season, had an NFL-leading 76 catches in the Steelers game. He has 831 receiving yards and five touchdowns.
