NFL News: Travis Hunter makes attitude aware of wanting to play both ways

Travis Hunter has a message to NFL team that only wants him to play on one side of the ball, whether it is cornerback or wide receiver.

Hunter, 21, won Heisman Trophy after dominating the competition as both a broad recipient and cornerback. When asked if an NFL team should tell him he could only play one position, Hunter said he would rather not play at all.

“It never plays football again,” Hunter told CBS Sports last week. “Because I’ve done it all my life and I love being on the football field. I feel I could dominate on each side of the ball, so I really enjoy doing it.”

Hunter distinguished himself as a two-way player last season while playing an unusually large number of snaps for Colorado. Last season, Hunter played 713 snaps on offense and 748 snaps on defense and were still incredibly productive despite the huge amount of snaps.

Hunter had 96 catches in 1,258 yards with 15 touchdowns as a broad recipient, while he had 35 tackles with four cuts, 11 passports defended and a forced fumble like a cornerback.

The top NFL draft of the view told CBS Sports that no team has asked him to play only one-way, but if a team decides to ask him to play one-way in the future, they already have their answers.

Tennessee Titans seems locked inside by taking Miami Quarterback Cam Ward with the total choice # 1, which would leave Cleveland Browns with a chance to choose Hunter, Star Pass Rusher Abdul Carter or Hunter’s College -Teammate Shedur Sanders.

Brown’s general manager Andrew Berry talked about what position he considers Hunter as at NFL Combine in February.

“With regard to Travis Hunter, Cornerback or Recipient, the answer is ‘Yes.’ He can play both, and I think that’s what makes him special.

If Hunter dominates both sides of the ball, as he did at the university level, the NFL team that drafts him will be very happy.
