Former NFL star Ryan Fitzpatrick was aiming for Miami Dolphin’s Quarterback Zach Wilson about the decision to carry No. 0 during the 2025 season.
Wilson’s number was listed on the official dolphin list page. He signed with Miami after a few years as an on-and-off starts with the New York Jets and a backup with Denver Broncos.

But Fitzpatrick was particularly disturbed by the decision # 0.
“Hi Zach, there is always time to change your mind … I know you are friends with Braxton Berrios and I know it worked for Orlando Woolridge, but if you try to build back your career and be taken seriously (as I’m sure you are), this doesn’t help …” Amazon Prime Video NFL analyst wrote on X.
Fitzpatrick later explained why he didn’t think Wilson would be taken seriously in his attempt to become a NFL starter again if he wore No. 0.

“It may be silly, but the perception matters in this business, and a QB trying to revive his career wearing #0, not screaming seriously QB,” he added.
Jets chose Wilson with No. 2 pick over the NFL draft in 2021. He was 12-21 as a starter with 6,293 yards, 23 touchdowns and 25 interceptions.
He was supposed to be backup during the 2023 season, but ended up starting 11 games instead of a wounded Aaron Rodgers. He signed with Broncos in 2024 when Rodgers came back.

He did not get the game when Bo Nix won the starting job and became one of the best rookies of the 2024 season. Now he gets to act as a backup to Tua Tagovailoa.
