Los Angeles Chargers Linebacker Denzel Perryman remained behind pillars on Saturday after he was taken into custody on weapons taxes, authorities said.
Los Angeles Sheriff’s deputies said several guns were discovered during a traffic stop Friday.
At least two of the found guns are classified as weapons of attack according to law enforcement.

“On August 1, 2025, at 21.30, South Los Angeles Station advocates a traffic stop on Los Angeles Charger’s footballer Denzel Perryman, 32, for violation of the vehicle code,” the Lensmanns department said in a statement.
“During the traffic stop, deputies discovered five firearms in Mr. Perryman’s vehicle, two of which were rifles in attack style.”

The NFL veteran cooperated with the authorities under the traffic stop, according to an event report.
Perryman was booked on charges of crimes shortly after 7 p.m. 22, says Records. He is held without ties on the South Los Angeles Sheriff’s station, the Lensmanns Department confirmed.

Ron Butler, Perryman’s agent, said the Pro Bowl defender was in contact with legal experts.
“Denzel and our team still collect information and work closely with legal adviser,” Butler told ESPN. “Although I cannot talk to the details at this time, we are convinced that things will be handled appropriately through the legal process.”

Perryman is scheduled to perform at Inglewood Court on Tuesday, the Lensmanns Department said.
“We are aware of a question involving Denzel and collecting information,” the team said in a statement.

Perryman played for chargers from 2017-20 and returned to the team in 2024. Perryman also had Stints with Houston Texans and Las Vegas Raiders.
