Turh Push survived for at least one more season as NFL owners voted against a proposal that would have effectively banned the play for 2025 and beyond.
The play, famous by Philadelphia Eagles, has been used to get quarterbacks the extra Oomph they need to either reach a first down or score a touchdown from the target line. And despite Green Bay Packers’ efforts, the play survived.

Eagles star Saquon Barkley had a message to these teams, and everyone else who opposed the piece.
“I think it’s soft to be honest,” he said at the podcast “exciting microphones” with his teammates Cooper Dejean and Reed Blankenship before the vote took place. “Everyone can do it. It’s not a theater piece that we can only do. We happen to have one of the best and biggest O-lines, and the Jalen hurts 600 pounds. It’s not our fault.

Barkley also pushed back on the claim that the play is a risk of players’ safety.

Packers’ official rule change proposal would have banned “an offensive player to push a teammate who was set up directly behind the snapper and receives Snap, immediately at Snap.” The proposal added that a penalty would be assessed on any offensive player who violated the rule.
