Islamabad:
In response to recent heavy rain and flood -related emergencies across different parts of the country, National Highway Authority (NHA) has issued a high alarm and established a central control room in its headquarters here.
NHA chairman Shehyar Sultan instructed all relevant members, general leaders, project executives and field staff to remain fully aware with necessary machines and equipment in flood-affected places.
Orders have been given to engineers, officers and affected staff to be present in the flooded areas that are always to carry out relief operations and restore all types of traffic so that the restoration works in the affected areas can be completed on time.
Emergency Response teams have been implemented in flood-affected areas and will maintain real-time communication with the NHA control room to report soil conditions and provide operational updates. Chairman Sultan also instructed NHA officials to secure timely and accurate public information via social media, FM radio and TV channels.
