Roy Cooper, former governor of North Carolina, took a stroke against former Carolina Hurricanes -Edge Mikko Rantan after the Rantan was traded on Friday.
The Rantan, 28, played in only 13 games with the hurricanes after they acquired him from Colorado Avalanche in January and scored only two goals under his short stint.
After an interesting debate with a long -term contract in Carolina, the hurricanes made another trade, this time the Rantan sent to Dallas Stars, the team with which he ultimately signed a long -lasting extension.

“Bad revenue, Mikko. You would have loved this, but did not give NC a chance,” Cooper sent social media. “On the bright side, if (the hurricanes) got to the playoffs, what they got the last 13 games, then it’s for the best. Now it’s time for a Carolina Cup race!”
Because the Rantan was not ready to decide an extension and commit long-term, the hurricanes traded him to the stars in return for Frem Logan Stankoven, two first round of elections and two third round elections, according to an ESPN report.
The stars also reportedly sign the Rantan for an eight -year $ 12 million per year. Year contract extension.

The Rantan was expected to give a big boost to the hurricanes, but had only six points in his 13 games after scoring 64 points in 49 games with avalanches before being shopped.
Hurricans treated Martin Necas and Jack Drury to Avalanche for the Rantan, a hefty award to acquire the Finnish wings.
Necas had 55 points in 49 games with the hurricanes before they are traded and fit well with Colorado and scored 15 points in 14 games with avalanche.
