Nick Reiner spoke in his defense ahead of his arraignment while behind bars for allegedly murdering his parents, Rob and Michele Reiner.
The 32-year-old writer and filmmaker believes he is being accused of his parents’ murder, even though he was allegedly aware of his “crime,” an insider noted.
While Nick has been on mental alert during his incarceration, the source shared that he doesn’t seem to understand why he’s in prison, as per TMZ.

As of now, Nick will have LA County Deputy Public Defender Kimberly Greene defend himself and the arraignment will take place on February 23rd.
Shortly after the accused was charged with two counts of first degree murder, it was revealed that Nick is diagnosed with schizophrenia and had been exhibiting erratic behavior since a recent change in his prescription.
He was arrested after the famous executive and his wife were found stabbed to death in their Brentwood home on December 14.
