A beloved former Nickelodeon child actor has died after being involved in a hit-and-run accident in Brooklyn, New York, in a shocking incident that has left many fans and neighbors saddened.
Police and law enforcement sources confirmed that 33-year-old Kianna Underwood, known for her early roles on All that and Little Billwas killed in the collision on the morning of Friday 16 January.
Underwood was crossing the street near Pitkin Avenue and Mother Gaston Boulevard in the Brownsville neighborhood around 1 p.m. 6:50 a.m. when she was struck by a sedan traveling westbound on Pitkin Avenue.
According to police reports, the vehicle dragged her body for about two blocks before she was moved to the roadway, where she was found with severe trauma.
She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities confirmed the driver fled and has not been identified or arrested, and the hit-and-run investigation is ongoing.
Born in New York City, Underwood began acting as a child and built her early career with voice work and television roles.
She appeared on the final season of Nickelodeon’s sketch comedy show All that in 2005, and she also voiced the character Fuchsia Glover Little Billan animated series aimed at a younger audience.
These performances helped establish her presence in children’s television in the late 1990s and early 2000s.
In addition to her work at Nickelodeon, Underwood’s early credits also include film and theater, such as touring with the musical Hair spray as Little Inez, showing the range of her talents beyond the small screen.
