Abducted men include five from Sindh as law enforcement agencies launch search

Unidentified gunmen kidnapped nine workers from a construction site in Balochistan’s Mastung district on Thursday. According to official sources, the workers were abducted from the Siyah Posh area of ​​Tehsil Dasht, where they were working near a security checkpoint.

The group includes five workers from Sindh and four locals. Law enforcement agencies have launched a search operation to locate them.

In a separate development, police recovered the body of Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Yousuf Reki, who had been missing for several days, near Kardgap in Mastung. Officials confirmed that he had been abducted and later shot dead.

“The officer sustained multiple gunshot wounds and showed signs of torture before he was killed,” a police source said. His body has been shifted to Mastung District Hospital for a post-mortem.

Police have collected forensic evidence, including bullet casings and blood samples, as part of an ongoing investigation to establish a motive and any possible connection between the two incidents.

Senior police officers in Balochistan expressed deep grief over the killing, calling it “a great loss to the force” and vowed to bring those responsible to justice.
