- Nintendo Switch 2 Eshop has no background music
- Music will be absent because Nintendo wanted to prioritize gameplay videos shown in the store
- Switch 2 manufacturer Kouichi Kawamoto said his main focus was performance and to make a “smoother experience” for users
Like Nintendo Switch, Switch 2 ESHOP has no background music while reviewing releases.
In a new interview with Polygon after Nintendo Switch 2 directly confirmed console producer Kouichi Kawamoto that the new eshop has no theme songs, unlike Wii and Wii U, but there is a practical reason why.
“Unlike that time, ESHOP now has plenty of videos showing the games,” Kawamoto said. “We wouldn’t penetrate it, so we don’t have music there.”
While there will be no catchy music to get stuck in your head, Kawamoto explained that his main focus to improve Switch 2 Eshop was performance and made it a smoother experience for users.
“I wanted to make sure it was a smooth experience. The roller on the list doesn’t stop that it’s very smooth, pages are loaded quickly,” he said.
Nintendo Switch 2 Release World Over on June 5, 2025 for $ 449.99 / £ 395.99 or $ 499.99 / £ 429.99 for a Mario Kart World bundle.
