According to two former Nintendo -Employees, Nintendo did not expect Mario Kart 8 Deluxe to cope with the contact so well.
This comes from the latest episode of Kit & Krysta podcast, where former Nintendo of America Director of Social Media Marketing Kit Ellis and former senior manager for Creator Relations Krysta Yang discussed Mario Kart 8 Deluxe And how Nintendo did not expect its overwhelming success (via game radar).
Yang explained that inside Nintendo there was “not a little” that the game “would be Juggernaut” as it was, with Ellis added that it was “kind of a reflection”.
Yang continued to say that the game “sold and sold and sold and sold and sold” and pr. Nintendo’s latest sales data, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe has now sold over 75 million copies across contact and Wii U.
