Nintendo Switch 2 has officially been revealed, and although the console may be backward compatible, we have now learned that a ton of original switch games will have compatibility problems.
After the Nintendo Switch 2 Direct yesterday, the company released two lists containing 122 games that do not run properly on Switch 2 .. The first is for games with “Start Up Problems”, while the second shows games that start but have some “in-game compatibility problems”.
There are no details about the specific problems each game has, but Nintendo notes that they are “examined”.

“The Nintendo Switch 2 system hardware is different from the Nintendo Switch, and some Nintendo Switch games may not be supported on or fully compatible with Nintendo Switch 2,” the company explains.
The only game we know for sure can’t be played on Switch 2 is Nintendo Labo Toy-Con 04: VR KITWhich makes sense, considering that it was specifically designed for the original switch.
Nintendo Switch 2 will be launched on June 5, 2025 and costs $ 449.99 / £ 395.99, with pre -provisions scheduled to open on April 8th.
