- Nintendo launches the app Nintendo today later today
- It will detail the latest Nintendo news on a daily basis
- The app will be available on both iOS and Android devices
The latest Nintendo Direct presentation ended in something a little different when the company announced a brand new smartphone app.
Called Nintendo today, it’s available today to iOS and Android devices. The app was introduced by Nintendos Shigeru Miyamoto, who said “It acts as a daily calendar,” added that it is a convenient way to keep track of different Nintendo events.
It’s not just a one-stop shop for the latest Nintendo News as it seems to have comics and fun information about Nintendo games and characters on a daily basis.
More crucial, Miyamoto explains that after the Nintendo Switch 2 Direct on April 2, news of the upcoming console and its game will be “delivered daily” via the Nintendo Today app.
The app can now be downloaded on both Google Play and the App Store. Simply write the name of the app in your phone’s store and you can download it immediately.
Personally, Nintendo today gives me smash bros. Dojo vibes. This was a site that in the upheaval to Super Smash Bros. Brawl On Wii, daily news and little ones delivered on grades, stages, objects and the like.
Of course, Nintendo today will be a little more broad in those news and have it covering. But it is certainly not Nintendo’s first acquisition of a daily news delivery system like this.
Once I have had some time with the Nintendo Today app, I will be sure to deliver my thoughts in a more thorough feature to see if it is worth downloading and keeping track of. Which with Switch 2 on the horizon I assume it will be.
