NJ transit engineers began their strike overnight Friday morning and affected hundreds of thousands of commuters.
While the number of travelers falls on a typical post-pandemic on Friday, there are two huge sports events in New York on Friday night that a large proportion of participants will have to find an alternative route.
On Friday, the Metro series starts between New York Yankees and Mets in Bronx, and it’s not uncommon for New Jersey residents to take the train to Penn Station.

From there, fans are able to take the subway as B, D and 4 took all the famous stops at E 161st Street – Yankee Stadium.
Bronx Stadium can contain more than 52,000 fans, including standing room, and with the rivalry of the cross -town, the number of fans will undoubtedly come close to this number. However, some brave souls now have to choose to be a designated driver.
However, driving into Bronx is certainly not the worst option.

Maybe the much harder commuting Friday night is now for Madison Square Garden for Game 6 between Knicks and Boston Celtics.
Despite the fact that the arena is only able to hold about a third of the capacity Yankee Stadium can, MSG sits virtually directly over Penn Station, right in the middle of Manhattan, where driving is already a pain.
If Knicks wins, it goes without saying that fans will go on the streets of a party, just as they have done after most playoffs. Seventh Avenue was shut down after their victory against Boston in Game 4.
Friday is the last Knicks game on MSG until at least Wednesday, but if Boston wins on Friday and then Game 7 on Monday, the Knicks season is over. However, the Subway series starts a six-match home to the Bronx bombers that extend until Thursday.

To finish it all, Shakira and Pitbull hold a concert of 82,500-seat Metlife Stadium, which has its own NJ Transit Station, Friday.
It is estimated that almost 270 million passengers take NJ -Transit annually.
