No, a Resident Evil 5 remake probably won’t appear in tomorrow’s PlayStation State of Play – that ESRB rating has been there for at least a year

  • A report claims that a Resident Evil 5 the remake may be revealed tomorrow
  • Its proof is a “new” ESRB rating for an Xbox Series X and Series S version of the game
  • However, the assessment is not actually new, so a disclosure seems unlikely

Rumors are swirling ahead of the upcoming PlayStation State of Play live stream, with some claiming that a Resident Evil 5 replay may be on the cards.

The proof, according to Kotaku, is a “new” listing on the ESRB website with an age rating for an Xbox Series X and Series S version of the game, which appears to align with tomorrow’s event.

The problem? This listing is actually not new, and checking the snapshots on the Internet Archive reveals that it has been live since as early as last February.

There is also the fact that there are more Resident Evil games listed as unreleased Xbox Series X and Series S releases conveniently left out of the report. This includes Resident Evil Revelations, Revelations 2, and 6.
