Senior Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Senator Irfan Siddiqui declared that no meeting took place between a visitor American delegation and former Prime Minister IMRAN Khan in prison, adding that Imran Khan himself is not willing to meet members of his own party.
In a speech with a private news channel, Siddiqui said: “If Imran Khan does not want to meet someone from PTI, what can the government do?”
He noted that leaders who served decades long prison conditions for their principles never received the kind of frequent visits Imran Khan enjoys. “PTI has no ideology or principle. Their only concern seems to be:“ How can we have a meeting? “He noticed.
According to Siddiqui, prison protocols require a list of visitors to be sent to the inmate who then decides who will meet. “This is not a big topic. If not today, a meeting will happen the next day.”
When he criticized PTI’s internal divisions, he said that most of its prominent figures see themselves as the whole party and do not recognize others. “PTI has become a disordered group that circles in confusion.”
After Khan’s attitude towards conversations, Siddiqui said: “From day one, Imran Khan has denied dialogue. Ispr laid two conditions: Sorry for May 9 and engage in political leaders. But he refuses to negotiate.” He quoted Senator Azam Swati’s recent comments in support of this attitude.
On the controversy of channel construction and PPP’s protest, Siddiqui said the process began after an 8th of July 2024, the meeting in the presidency where IRSA was instructed to continue. “The Sindh Assembly adopted only one decision against it on March 14, 2025. Why was PPP quiet all the time?”
Answer to President Asif Ali Zardari’s remarks in parliament against the channels, Siddiqui said the declaration may have been driven by political necessity after pressure from nationalist parties in Sindh.
He approached questions about coalition dynamics and rejected the possibility of PPP -skilling ways with the government and said, “PPP is a party supporting constitutional institutions. It’s not like PTI.”
On Nawaz Sharif’s role in solving the Balochistan question, he said, “Nawaz Sharif is a ruted political figure respected by all. His experience and relationships are crucial to national reconciliation.”
With regard to future elections, Siddiqui said Nawaz had already decided not to apply for the Prime Ministry before the 2024 election. “What he decides on the next election, I cannot say.”
When he commented on Militans, he added, “If people go to the mountains and choose violence, there can be no negotiations in response to blood edition.”
