The Nintendo Switch 2 is almost here and we are still learning more about the console in the short behavior until June 5, 2025, launch. Cases of Europe Nintendo in Europe has shared Nintendo Switch 2 Safety Manual as a PDF online.
While it contains default surgery instructions we would expect to a portable game console, Nintendo soup Spotted that it tells us a little more about the display. Mainly “The screen is covered with a film layer designed to prevent fragments that spread in case of damage. Don’t peel it off.”

Still, Nintendo makes it as clearly as possible as a key ball and reminds people not to risk removing it. In the unfortunate event that you let go of Switch 2 and crack the screen, the film layer could prevent the crack from spreading.

Now this movie layer is not exclusive to Switch 2, as found in most glass screens to prevent further damage from a cracked screen. You don’t want splinters or glass pieces that go everywhere. It’s not a bank on Switch 2’s durability by any stretch and Change OLED have a similar layer.
Furthermore, if you want to add another layer of protection to Switch 2’s 7.9-inch display, you can still estimate a screen protector. And remember that this movie layer is not a screen protector in the traditional sense.
