Chief of Army Staff (Coas) General Syed Asim Munir said on Monday that no hostile design could undermine the determination of Pakistan-armed forces when Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif declared May 10 as a national day to be observed annually as ‘Youm-E-Marka-E-Haq’.

Marka-e-Haq refers to the broader conflict with India from April 22 to May 10, while ‘Bunyanum Marsoos’ is the name given to the Operation on May 10, when Pakistan promised justice and retaliation.

Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said the army chief visited the combined military hospital (CMH) Rawalpindi to ask about soldiers and civilians wounded under Marka E Haq and Operation Bunyanum Marsoos.

Gen Asim Munir emphasized that no hostile design could erode the decision of the armed forces. “Valor and victims of our civilians and soldiers are the cornerstone of Pakistan’s safety. The whole nation is united in solidarity with each member of its armed forces,” he said.

In a major political announcement, Shehbaz said that families of civilians martyrated during surgery would receive RS10 million each, while wounded civilians would be awarded between RS1 million and RS2 million each, depending on the severity of injuries.

For the martyred military staff, the government would give RS10 million to RS18 million to families, based on rank. Based on rank, RS19 million for RS42 million would be given as housing aid to the families of martyrs.

Families of the martyrs would continue to receive full pay and allowances until their planned retirement date; In addition to the children of the martyred soldiers would be entitled to free education up to the exam, and one daughter of each martyr would receive RS1 million marriage grants.

The prime minister said the military staff who were injured during surgery would receive between RS2 million and RS5 million each. He further announced that the federal government would bear the cost of the treatment for all the wounded individuals, both civilian and military.

In addition to individual support, Shehbaz said, the government will also take on the reconstruction of all homes and mosques damaged or destroyed in the Indian strikes. “The responsibility for supporting children of martyrs lies with the government, Shehbaz said.” We will fulfill this duty. “
