Lahore/Quetta:
Ten days have passed since terrorists hijacked a Peshawar-bound train in Balochistan’s Bolan district. However, Pakistan Railways (PR) has not yet received approval to resume train operations in the residual province, which has led to a daily loss of over RS2.4 million.
A banned separatist organization on March 11, Jafar Express hijacked with over 400 passengers on board. The security forces later launched an operation that killed all terrorists and saved all the passengers except the 21 people who had been killed by the terrorists during the hijacking.
According to sources, PR is awaiting an approval from security and intelligence agencies and does not book seats, causing a daily loss of RS2.4 million.
Meanwhile, per Thursday’s plan to run five additional trains to facilitate passengers who want to celebrate Eidul Fitr with their families.
The first Eid Special Train differs from Karachi to Lahore on March 26. The second train runs from Quetta to Peshawar on March 26.
The third train differs from Lahore to Karachi on March 27. The fourth train runs from Karachi to Rawalpindi via Faisalabad and Sargodha on March 27.
The fifth Eid -special train travels from Karachi to Lahore via Faisalabad and Sheikhupura.
