Pakistan has not reported a single case of polio since February 10, 2025, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif was informed during a review meeting on Thursday.

The Prime Minister was chairman of the session on polio expulsion efforts and praised the work for health authorities, international partners and Frontline -Polio workers for their relentless obligation to eradicate the disease.

He instructed officials to intensify the public’s attention and ensure that mobilization of society is preparing for its next nationwide anti-polio campaign, which starts April 21.

“Each child under the age of five must receive the vaccine under this drive,” Shearif said.

The Prime Minister also emphasized the importance of maintaining routine immunization against other life-threatening diseases along with the polio campaign.

During the meeting, officials informed the Prime Minister about the upcoming anti-polio campaign, which was scheduled to run from April 21 to 27. About 4.5 million children will be vaccinated during the week -long drive with the participation of 415,000 polio workers across the country.

The campaign performance will undergo third -party validation between April 28 and 30 in line with the prime minister’s instructions.

Officials also highlighted that the tracing of cold boiling for the campaign is controlled through a digital monitoring system, ensuring vaccine security and efficiency.

The meeting attended the Federal Minister of Health Syed Mustafa Kamal, especially representative of Polio Ayesha Raza Farooq, Sindh -Health Minister Dr. Azra Fazal Pechuho, chief secretaries for all provinces and territories, and representatives from international partner organizations.
